Most of the weapons that were used by ancient warriors are not found today. But, this has not been the case with ninja weapons. These weapons are still very popular. In this article, we have enlisted five magnificent weapons used by ninjas and the popularity of which never reduced.

1. Shuriken

Whenever I talk about popular ninja weapons, shuriken is the first thing that comes into the mind. Shuriken is also known as ninja star these days. It has been popular among cosplayers who replicate the ninjas on different LARP events. Also, people have adopted it as a self defense weapon to deal with the attackers.

Ninjas used different weapons as a part of their tactical plans to demolish their enemies. They were thrown at the enemies to cause injuries on their heads. Also, at times they were embedded into the ground to cause injuries to the feet on their enemies who stepped on them.

Generally, a shuriken is shaped like a star with a few edges on it. These edges do the damage actually. So, today, people use them for self defense. Most of the weapons require them to get closer to the attacker but they can use this ninja weapon to counter the attackers while staying at a safe distance away from them.

Kunai is a different kind of a knife. It is shaped in a way that it can travel quicker and straighter. This knife was used as a throwing weapon by the ninjas. But, they also used it for cutting tasks.

4. Kusarigama

Kusarigama was another common but secondary weapon used by the ninjas during wars. It contained a weight and a sickle. However, it appeared very complex. It appears a bit like the nunchaku but it contained a blade as well. A chain was used for connecting the sickle and the weight.

The length of the chain was far more than what you expect in a nunchaku. The length often ranged between 1000 and 4000 mm. This popular ninja weapon was used in a tactical manner. The weight was thrown on the weapon carried by the enemy in an attempt to disarm him.

Also, the weight was thrown the enemy to make him lose control over the weapon. After this attempt, a finishing blow was dealt using the sickle to the enemies.

5. Kakute

One of the most fascinating ninja weapons was the Kakute. It was basically a ring that ninjas worn around their fingers. However, the ring contained a couple of deadly spikes. It is like the self defense keychains we used these days.

The reason why it is still popular is because it is a smart weapon that people can use for defending themselves against the attackers. They can just deliver a punch on the face of the attacker and spiked are enough to cause a serious injury.
